Geneva Subdivision
The Geneva Subdivision is Union Pacific's main trans-continental rail line, and it sees lots of traffic daily. It was originally built by 1854 by Chicago and Northwestern Railway. The Geneva begins in Chicago after it splits with the Harvard just outside Ogilvie Transportation Center (Northwestern Station). This line extends all the way to Council Bluffs, Iowa. At Council Bluffs, it turns into the Council Bluffs Subdivision. If you're riding Metra, you may know it as the Union Pacific West Line.
This line is run on by Metra, and Union Pacific. Metra runs from OTC to Elburn, where there is a coach yard. UP normally runs from Council Bluffs to Proviso, however there is some freight traffic east of Proviso. Some train examples are: I-G2G2, Z-G2OA, M-PRNP, M-PRCB, C-PRCK, A-PRBE, and LPW141. There are plenty more, be sure to check out the train symbols section to see all of them.
